Flux material

Flux material – a colorless transparent glaze, serves as a base for color pigments. Transparent glazes are a good base for brightly painted color glazes, especially when oxide is used in the pigment. Flux materials can be used at slip preparation, underglaze and majolica paints and the ceramic structures, solidifying at lowered temperatures, and also as an integument layer on other glazes.

Also flux material is used for decorative and ceremonial photoceramics to give the product (to a photo oval, a ceramic tile) additional luster.
