“The Center of Photoceramic Technologies” brought to the market the latest-generation ceramic laser printer: the А4-430.

This photoceramic laser printer is essentially different from the previous A4 model in the following ways: it has a wider range of control of the density of the image and the saturation of colors; it has a more modern processor and more built-in memory, which increases the speed of the printing; it uses a wider range decal papers of different dimensions, allowing you to print an image in length up to 1200 mm (47 inches).

The A4 model is a time-tested photoceramic printer with a track record of reliability. It has proven itself as a sturdy industrial printer for high-quality photoceramics.

The results produced with this ceramic laser printer have high photographic quality, with available resolution of 1200×1200 dpi, and also have brilliant and intense colors. Today this photoceramic laser printer surpasses all known models in image quality. The main advantage of A4 model is a surprisingly low price tag compared to other printers in its class.

Applications of this model include producing pictures on a ceramic tile (phototile), drawing of logotypes and images on ceramic ware, photos on monuments (ceremonial photoceramics) and also printing of images on any ceramic product, allowing you to make truly unique products.

This model is easy-to-use and won’t require service for a long time due to its industrial design. “The Center of Photoceramic Technologies” is able, thanks to a branched out network, to provide technical support and consultation to clients at every spot on the globe.Возможно Вас также заинтересуют:

Required equipment for photoceramic printing:

Ceramic printer, creating a sticky covering on a surface of a ceramic-metal (ceramics) by adhesive ink

Muffle furnace (0-850 C, 32 -1562 F)

Needed supplies:

A ceramic paint (four colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, black — CMYK)

Adhesive ink

Printing is accomplished by following steps:

Place the object (a ceramic-metal oval or the tablet) on the printer table.

Print the image (a photo, a landscape, a picture, or text) on the computer, using the Photoshop application. In Photoshop, there is a function to separate the image into 4 colors (CMYK). The four versions of the image are printed separately. We choose the “cyan” image and send it to the printer.

The ceramic printer prints the "cyan” picture adhesive (gluing) colorless ink. The printer table opens.

After the table opens powder gets onto the "cyan” image. On those places where there is adhesive gluing ink – the powder sticks, there where there is no colorless adhesive ink, it doesn't stick. We use a wide brush on a surface of the image and clean the extra toner away. The small amount left is blown off. Now the cyan pigment is precisely on those places where it is printed by the adhesive colorless ink. The collected toner can be used repeatedly.

In Photoshop we select the next color (“magenta”) and print out a «magenta» picture with the adhesive colorless ink. The printer table opens. We repeat the point 4 procedure.

For reception of a full-color photo on ceramics such operation is made 4 times.
You can see the partial technical process on video tape.

For reception of a black-and-white photo it is enough to put on monuments only black color.

After we have printed the last color, we remove an object from a table of the printer and place it in the furnace. After reaching a temperature of 800 degrees, the color pigment solidifies on the surface of the glaze, and we get a result with photographic quality.

This equipment for the photoceramics printer has the lowest cost price in comparison with all known technologies of photoceramics.

Jet ceramic printer Mirtels VSS M102 is supplied with a high-precision alignment system that provides hair-splitting accuracy in the alignment of color layers, providing brilliant results

Follow these steps to print an image:

Fasten the oval or the tablet is on the coordinate table.

Use Photoshop to perform the necessary color separation. The CMYK mode will produce 4 layers: cyan, magenta, yellow and black.

First, the cyan is printed. Jet printer Mirtels M102 carries out the print adhesive using colorless (gluing) ink. The object should be covered by a powder paint of dark blue color. The leftover powder is cleared away by a brush.

After that, the other three layers are printed in the same way. They are also covered by powder paints of corresponding color.

Photoceramics is an occupation that is both creative and rewarding, providing a satisfaction coming from the creation of high quality images on products with a ceramic or enamel covering. A wide variety of objects can serve as your canvas, as you can put a photo on ceramics, a photo on enamel, photos on monuments, and photos on ceramic tile for picture creation. Also, you can put images on souvenirs, mugs, plates, saucers and other products made of ceramic and porcelain.

Now the latest photoceramic technologies, quickly gaining in popularity, are jet printers with overglaze paints and decals, printed by laser printer and ceramic toner.
The best and most available equipment for ceremonial photoceramics is the unique invention of Ukrainian engineers: the specialized printer for ceremonial photoceramics — a jet printer with a high-precision alignment system (a la the jet printer Mirtels). Thanks to this printer, the photoceramics industry is experiencing a substantial improvement in the conditions of small workshops and in the house. With this new technology, there are no harmful smells of varnish or ether, and the entire process consists in the direct printing on an oval or the tablet of a photo with the subsequent firing in a muffle furnace at 800 degrees Celsius (1472 degrees F). For this technology the simplest single-phase muffle furnace uses 2.5 kW from a 220V supply. The Mirtels М101, М102, and М103 series are unique in that they provides high-precision alignment of paint layers, high speed printing and allow the printing of not only black-and-white, but also color photoceramics, thanks to the way they monitor the table position.

Jet printers Mirtels are great for small work loads of 30-50 jobs per day. The cost of producing a photo on an oval of 13×18 cm (5×7 inches) is 20-30 cents.
For higher volumes it is more efficient to print decals with a laser printer using color ceramic toners. In this technology the photoceramics is made on the special laser printer for decal printing by a ceramic toner. Currently the best choice would be one of the models made by “The Center of Photoceramic Technologies”, because the technology inside them is more advanced than the printers from foreign competitors. Advantages of this technology are extremely high-quality printing with bright and saturated colors, including the elusive bright red color.

For this technology the ceramic laser printer, the varnishing device, decal varnish, decal paper and a muffle furnace are required. After printing the photo on decal paper we varnish the image, soak it in water, transfer the image onto a product, dry it, and fire it in a muffle furnace at temperatures of 800-900 degrees. The result is a photoceramic product with bright, saturated colors and high durability.

The main advantages of the ceramic printer for decal printing, developed by “The Center of Photoceramic Technologies”, are:

high quality of the image

durability of the image

bright and saturated colors

The essential advantage of the decal technology is that the ceramic laser printer has high durability at the very low expense of toner. All this equipment for photoceramics is available and you can get it at any of “The Center of Photoceramic Technologies” branches. Furthermore, we provide a guarantee on all of the equipment we sell.
With the equipment there is a complete set of starting supplies and training materials, so you can easily become familiar with the technology by yourself.Возможно Вас также заинтересуют:

The М103 is the newest model from a series of printers for photoceramics manufacturing. Mirtels VSS is also a latest-generation printer. The Mirtels М103 is the fastest printer on the market, able to print a 13 х 18 cm (5 x 7 inches) in photo mode in 37 seconds. The Mirtels M103 produces the highest quality prints among ink jet printers. It is also high durable and is easy-to-use.

The Mirtels M103 has a high-precision alignment system that provides high accuracy in full-color prints.

The ceramic printing process is as follows:

Make sure the desired object can be repeatedly located on the printer table with high precision.

Use Photoshop to do CMYK color separation. In system CMYK it is received CYAN – dark blue, MAGENTA – red, YELLOW – yellow, BLACK — black.

Begin with printing the “cyan” layer onto the ceramic object. The jet printer applies a colorless adhesive paint onto the object.

Ceramic powder paint of dark blue color is put on the desired object. There, where the adhesive paint has been put, the powder sticks. The rests of powder paint will be swept away with a brush.

Other three layers are printed using the same technology as above.

After printing the full-color image onto the ceramic object, place the object in a muffle furnace where the pigments are fired into the object at a temperature of 800 degrees Celsius. As a result we receive high-precision image with the high resolution.

PHOTOCERAMICS DEVELOPMENT

The path to modern methods of drawing images on ceramics began in ancient times and started with hand painting.

The first works of images on ceramics were made many centuries ago. The first mention of such images is made in Babylonian texts, and painted objects from this time have been unearthed by modern archeologists. In ancient China there was a flourishing craft of creating images (ornamentation, images, people) on wares.

A number of works of images on ceramics, executed by masters during Ancient times:

Picture 1

a) Etruscan plates on a high leg. The end 4th – early 3rd century BC, Chivita-Kastellana, Italy

b) Clay jugs, 1800—1600 BC, Cyprus

c) Perfumery vessel of pear-shaped form – 630-590 BC, Corinth

d) Lecythus with images of solar symbols – early 6th century BC, Island Rhodes

e) The Red-figure amphora, the 2nd – late 4th century BC, Italy

The technology of drawing images on pottery requires temperature processing of a product, which facilitates the adhesion of the painted image to the product.
Different types of paints can be used: overglaze paints, underglaze paints, ceramic pigments, and other types of paints.

Perfection of the skill of ceramic painting allowed the creation of realistic pictures of nature on a mural from a ceramic tile. One of such works is presented in drawing below:

Picture 2 — Ceramic mural «Madrid», architect Anibal Gonsales. 1929 year, the Spain Square. Seville, Spain

The technology of silk-screen printing has seen widespread use in the modern era, and up to now it has been used for duplicating decal images and ware. This technology has allowed manufacturers of porcelain, glass, enameled and other ware to decorate their products with patterns and pictures of varying sizes and colors.

Picture 3- Porcelain service and set of the enameled ware

A century ago, black-and-white images on ceremonial photoceramics were made with analog decal technology using photographic techniques. This method applied adhesive to different areas of the glass, providing a way for the overglaze paint to stick to the glass.

The 1990s saw the development of new analog decal technology using black-and-white printers. This greatly simplified the manufacturing process.

A new method of black-and-white decal image production arose with the development of digital technologies in the late 1990s – this time digital. At the heart of this method lies the printing on decal paper by means of the black-and-white laser printer with special type of a toner. During the firing of the decal onto pottery, the decal turns a brownish shade caused by presence of iron oxides in the toner. This method allowed increased productivity in ceremonial photoceramics manufacturing.

Almost in parallel with this technology the Chinese experts had been developing technology of creating images on pottery by means of the jet printer and a special adhesive (sticky) ink. This was a digital technological breakthrough, allowing not only the printing black-and-white images, but also color images on ceramics and ceramic-metal. In the post-Soviet era development of this technology was pursued by both Russian (Grechko A.I., etc.) and the Ukrainian experts (Mustafin K.A., Zavalnjuk V. I., etc.). The jet printer with the coordinate table, developed by firm «PET Plast», picture 4, became one of the most successful engineering achievements in this field, allowing full-color photoceramic printing with high quality because of high-precision alignment of paint layers. Now this equipment is known under the name of Mirtels.

Picture 4 — Ceramic jet printer with a coordinate table

Jet printer with a coordinate table differs from others technologies by its ease of use and the low cost price of image printing.

In the late 20th – early 21st century, a group of scientists jointly developed a new technology of digitally printing color decals. The basis of this technology is the use of color ceramic toners in a color laser printer to print images onto decal paper.

Experts of several countries have developed modifications to laser printers and copiers for printing digital color decals. Among these experts are the engineers of “The Center of Photoceramic Technologies”, who, as a result of long-term research and engineering, have developed several modifications to the A4 and А3 printers that allow the printing of full-color decals.

For many years experts from different countries pursued research in the attempt to develop a new kind of ceramic ink for ink jet printers that would allow the creation of photographic images on ceramics. Unfortunately, the results were unsatisfactory.

Today, the newest photoceramic technology is suited not only for mass production items, but also custom products with full-color photographic quality. All this became possible thanks to scientific and technical progress in digital technologies and to persistent work o f experts in the photoceramics industry.

After overglaze paints are applied to this sticky surface, a black-and-white or color image is produced on the product. After firing in a muffle furnace, a high-grade photoceramic product (either a pattern or a picture on ceramics, or a photo on enamel, or photos on monuments) turns out. Adhesive ink, in conjunction with a suitable ink jet printer, is an essential part of photoceramic technology.

Colloidal varnish for decal – the special type of a varnish intended for carrying the image over from a paper on a product and giving to a product after roasting brightness and surface shine.

Various manufacturing techniques use colloidal varnish for transferring an image onto ceramic, metal-ceramic, glass or other surfaces. The most common techniques are the silk screen method, decal on laser printer and hand painting on decal paper.
